History of Briar Creek Bath and Body Outreach
Briar Creek Bath and Body Outreach was born from a simple belief: even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference when they are rooted in care, purpose, and community.
Our story begins with Tom and Bobbette Fagel and their family-owned goat farm, Briar Creek Farm. What started as a passion for raising goats and creating high-quality goat milk bath and body products—especially handcrafted soaps and lotions—soon grew into something much deeper.
During the first half of each year, Tom and Bobbette bring baby goats from the farm to a local nursing home, offering residents the joy, comfort, and connection that come from time spent with animals. These visits have become a cherished experience, filled with smiles, stories, and gentle moments that remind everyone involved how powerful simple interactions can be.

Along the way, there were other small but meaningful opportunities to give back. After a special event that required goat milk soap in a specific fragrance and color, Briar Creek Farm found itself with extra products that could not be added to regular inventory. Rather than letting those items go to waste, they chose to donate them—along with blankets—to the local Veterans Coalition, supporting veterans in the community simply because there was a need and an opportunity to help.
Those moments planted a seed.
It became clear that there were real, ongoing needs within Rockingham County, North Carolina—needs that could be met, even in a modest way, through something as personal and essential as bath and body products. With prayer, reflection, and a growing sense of purpose, Tom and Bobbette felt called to take the next step.

That calling became Briar Creek Bath and Body Outreach.
Today, the outreach exists to provide gentle, nourishing bath and body products made with care and intention to women served through local shelters, veterans supported by community organizations, and elderly individuals through established partnerships, including nursing homes. Every item shared represents dignity, comfort, and the reminder that someone cares.
What began on a small goat farm has grown into a mission centered on service, stewardship, and compassion—touching lives, one bar at a time.
“This outreach was placed on our hearts through small moments of giving. What began on our farm grew into a calling to serve our community in a meaningful way. Every bar we share represents more than soap—it represents dignity, compassion, and the hope that someone feels seen. That’s what it means to touch lives, one bar at a time.”
